RA.One Becomes the Third Bollywood Movie to Go Past 100 Crores in Spending

According to film historian S.M.M. Ausaja, RA.One could well be the third biggest high-budget film from India. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh has carried out extensive promotional activities for this movie, travelling to various places across India. In fact, he teamed up with 25 brands and toured eight cities for promoting the movie.

The 2009 movie Blue – an Akshay Kumar starrer -- was the first movie in India to spend a super huge amount of Rs.129 crore, whereas the Rajinikanth super hit Endhiran (2010) spent Rs.190 crore and is right on top of the high budget movie list.

Even historic movies such as Jodha Akbar, Devdas and the sci-fi movie Krrish cost within Rs.50 crore. Certainly we have seen many big budget Bollywood movies in the past but most of them where less than Rs.100 crore in spending. Aamir Khan's movie Ghajini cost Rs.65 crore, whereas Harman Baweja's movie Love Story 2050 and Kareena Kapoor film Kambakkht Ishq cost Rs.60 crore each.

According to current reports, the Bollywood badshah has spent Rs.52 crore just in the way of various tie ups for marketing the movie.
